Spring is coming! Yea!

Here in Virginia, our trees are beginning to bud and I couldn't be more excited! With winter almost behind us...I can just feel the color come back into my cards. This idea came to me yesterday. I hope it makes you feel like spring!

For this card you will need the following supplies:
All items are Stampin Up!
Stamp Set: Easter Blossoms
Paper: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Black
Ink:Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso, Black
Extras: Brayer, glue dots, Versa Mark marker and pad, embossing powder, spritzer tool, sponges, dimensionals, vanilla seam binding, snail, button and markers in the following colors...Early Espresso, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Poppy Parade.

Cut Whisper White card stock 11 x 4 1/4 and 3 1/2 x 4 1/4
Marina Mist 3 3/4 x 5
Black 4 x 5 1/4
You will also need a scrap of white and black card stock for the girl on the front of the card.

First using the cherry blossom stamp...stamp it on the Versa Mark pad and then on the Early Espresso ink pads and then on your white 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 card stock. Fill in the flowers and leaves with the Poppy Parade and Old Olive markers. Use the Chocolate Chip Marker to fill in the tree branches. Using the Versa Mark marker, carefully go over the Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. Try very hard to not go outside of the lines. Cover the whole image with your embossing powder...heat to set.

Brayer the top 2/3 of your card stock with Bashful Blue
Next Brayer on the Marina Mist, about 1/3 of the way down
And last but not least brayer on your Not Quite Navy, not totally covering the Marina Mist.

With a sponge rub Old Olive on the bottom of the card stock...just barely touching the Bashful Blue. Next use the Always Artichoke going about 1/2 way up the Old Olive and then sponge a bit of Black on the bottom. You are just darkening it a bit.

Take and chip the Black all the way around, you want just a slight dark edge.

Mat your work onto the Marina Mist card stock. Tie the ribbon and then mat it onto the the Black and White card stock. I used the white gel pen to add little dots in the grass. I like them in groups of three.

Next take you scrap of Whisper White and stamp the little girl in the Versa Mark and then the Black ink. Make sure you have LOTS of Black ink on your stamp...you can't have to much! Add your embossing powder and heat to set. I just tore her out randomly. Then attach it to the Black and tear again leaving a Black edge. I curled the Black card stock a bit. Spritz the girl using your spritzer and the Early Espresso marker. Attach to card front using Dimensionals. I thought it needed a little something more so I added the green button with mini glue dots.

Have a wonderful Sunday!
